What is Thermisight Dynamics?

Thermisight Dynamics LLC is a veteran-owned parent company operating three focused thermal imaging brands: Thermisight Hunters (thermal hunting optics), Thermisight Industrial (industrial thermal cameras), and Thermisight Drone (aerial thermal payloads). We are an authorized dealer for every brand we carry, with 31 years of semiconductor engineering behind every recommendation.

Are you an authorized dealer for the thermal optics brands you sell?

Yes. Thermisight is an authorized dealer for every brand in our catalog, and we proactively manage those authorizations so they never silently lapse. That means the manufacturer warranty and support are valid on every optic we sell.

Do you offer law-enforcement, military, or first-responder pricing?

Yes. We offer special pricing for verified U.S. law-enforcement, military, and first-responder buyers through ID.me verification. Verify your status on our Verify page to unlock your discount at checkout.

Can thermal optics be exported outside the United States?

Most thermal optics are U.S.-only export items governed by ITAR and EAR regulations. A U.S.-export acknowledgement is required at checkout and shipping is U.S.-only. See our Export Compliance page for full details.

Does Thermisight Dynamics ship orders itself?

No. Thermisight operates as a drop-ship dealer: every unit is fulfilled and shipped directly to you by its manufacturer or authorized distributor. We hold no inventory, which keeps stock fresh and keeps the manufacturer warranty attached to your purchase. Each order line is routed to its brand automatically and ships from that brand.

How long does shipping take if items ship from the manufacturer?

Lead times vary by brand. Each product page shows the brand's estimated ship time in business days, and your order confirmation repeats it per brand ('ships from [Brand] in X business days'). Most in-stock items leave the manufacturer within 2–5 business days; backorders take longer and we email a revised ship date.

When will I get tracking for a manufacturer-shipped order?

Tracking is emailed to you the moment the manufacturer ships. We pass their tracking number straight through to your order, so the shipping-confirmation email is the fastest place to see it. You can also look up status any time on our Track Order page with your order number and tracking token.

Where is Thermisight Dynamics located?

We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon at 5441 S Macadam Ave #6308, Portland, OR 97239. Contact us at (503) 568-8124 or jamesmcgee@thermisightdynamics.com.

What thermal scope is best for hog hunting?

For hog hunting at typical ranges (50-150 yards), a 384-resolution thermal scope with sub-40 mK NETD offers the best balance of image clarity, refresh rate, and value. For longer-range depredation past 200 yards, step up to a 640-resolution scope with a built-in laser rangefinder (LRF) so you can range and drop hogs at distance.

Do I need a laser rangefinder (LRF) on my thermal scope?

An LRF is essential for ethical long-range shots past 200 yards and for law-enforcement search work where knowing exact distance matters. For close-range hog control under 100 yards, a non-LRF scope works well and saves money.

Clip-on vs dedicated thermal scope — which should I buy?

A clip-on (front-mounted thermal) lets you keep your day optic's reticle and works for both day and night, ideal if you already own a premium day scope. A dedicated thermal scope gives a cleaner, lighter, purpose-built night setup with better eye relief and onboard controls.

Which thermal optics are made in the USA?

Trijicon and select FLIR models are designed and manufactured in the United States. We carry USA-made and NDAA-compliant options — look for the Made in USA badge on product pages, or ask James in the assistant chat for current USA-made inventory.

What thermal camera is best for electrical inspection?

A radiometric handheld camera with multiple lens options and sub-50 mK NETD lets you spot loose connections, overloaded circuits, and failing components from a safe distance. Look for radiometric JPEG capture and included analysis software for professional reporting.

Can thermal cameras detect water leaks and insulation gaps in buildings?

Yes. Thermal imaging reveals temperature differentials from moisture intrusion, missing insulation, and air leaks that are invisible to the eye. A high-resolution 640 camera with analysis software is ideal for building diagnostics and energy audits.

What is the difference between handheld and fixed-mount industrial thermal cameras?

Handheld cameras are for walk-around inspection and reporting; fixed-mount cameras continuously monitor equipment for predictive maintenance and alert you to temperature anomalies before failure. Many facilities use both.

Do industrial thermal cameras work for predictive maintenance?

Absolutely. Thermal monitoring is core to predictive maintenance. By tracking temperature trends on motors, bearings, switchgear, and transformers, you can identify degrading components and schedule repairs before catastrophic failure.

What thermal drone payload is best for agriculture?

A gimbal-stabilized dual-camera payload (4K visible plus thermal) with radiometric capture is ideal for crop scouting, irrigation analysis, and plant-health assessment. Look for compatibility with your drone platform (Autel, Skydio) and real-time streaming.

Can drone thermal cameras be used for search and rescue?

Yes. Thermal drone payloads are widely used by public-safety agencies for night search operations, missing-person recovery, and wildfire hotspot detection. Real-time streaming and a wide thermal field of view are key for covering large areas quickly.

Which thermal payloads are NDAA-compliant for federal use?

Several non-Chinese drone thermal payloads meet NDAA Section 848 requirements for U.S. federal agency use, including Skydio (U.S.-made autonomous with FLIR Boson) and Workswell (industrial-inspection radiometric payloads). Check each product page for NDAA-compliance status, or ask James for a matched setup for government and public-safety programs.

Do drone thermal cameras support real-time streaming?

Most public-safety and inspection payloads support real-time HDMI or app-based streaming. For live streaming to a command center, look for payloads with RTMP or network streaming built in.
